The Warrior's Return: Free Admission for Veterans (Museums)
Location: Reynolda House Museum of American Art
Odysseus fought a ten-year struggle in the Trojan War and labored just as strenuously to return home. Similarly, our nation has been at war for more than a decade, and our soldiers have faced enormous challenges returning home, many of them psychological. Admission to the Museum will be free for all veterans and their families from the first of November until Thanksgiving. Includes "Romare Bearden: A Black Odyssey."
Dias de los Muertos (Days of the Dead) (Exhibit)
Time: 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Location: Museum of Anthropology, Wake Forest University
MOA’s annual exhibit features a traditional Mexican ofrenda: a home altar with sugar skulls, colorful tissue paper cutouts, food and beverage offerings, marigolds, and photos of deceased relatives to honor the dead. A children’s ofrenda and photographs illustrating different aspects of the celebration are also on display. This exhibit features text in English and Spanish. Admission is free. Open Tuesday to Saturday.
Weaving along the Silk Road: Amazing Asian Saddle Rugs (Exhibit)
Time: 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Location: Museum of Anthropology, Wake Forest University
This new long-term exhibit examines the creation, function, and cultural importance of saddle rugs across Central Asia. It features colorfully woven horse covers and saddle covers, as well as elaborately decorated saddles from an area spanning the ancient Silk Road from China to Constantinople (Istanbul). Open Tuesday to Saturday.
"The President is Coming!" U.S. Presidential Visits to Greensboro (Exhibit)
Time: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Location: Greensboro Historical Museum, 130 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27401
What do Ulysses S. Grant, Theodore Roosevelt and Bill Clinton all have in common? A new display at the Greensboro Historical Museum illustrates that there have been at least eighteen U.S. President's who have stopped in the Gate City. Come visit the lobby display, our preview to the full display that will be on view on August 23, 2012. As always, all exhibitions at the museum are free for visitors.
Vibha Galhotra: Metropia (Exhibit)

Galhotra's works serve as a critique of urbanization and an examination of her own place in the world.
