Expressing religious beliefs through art has been evident throughout mankind from Paleolithic cave art to architectural masterpieces of cathedrals, mosques, & temples around the world. Syed Ahmad creates contemplative works in glass inspired by ancient Islamic calligraphy. Quilted paintings of personal faith define Alice Levinson’s art, using biblical text & Hebrew poetry. Robert Radin features poignant photographs showcasing cultures around the world, cast in faith. Photographer Shireen Alborno tears down the stereotype attached to her religion & lifestyle as a Muslim. G. Carol Bomer juxtaposes text & image to create connections that are not predictable.
