Time: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Location: Waterworks Visual Arts Center

All art is an abstraction derived from something real. The Summer Exhibition explores the boundaries between the artist’s use of elements of design to express thoughts. Five regional artists challenge the viewer to look beyond the obvious & deepen their understanding of the realism in abstraction & the abstraction in realism. Scott Burdick captures the humanity of diverse cultures in his work. Cassandra Gillens’ paintings feature silhouette figures saturated with vivid colors & simplified forms. Susan Lyon’s work depicts her true love of painting the figure. Terry Thirion intrigues the viewer & invites them to discover the little surprises in each piece represented in bold colors, sudden curves, or random marks. Felicia van Bork creates artwork that explores origin & evolution of consciousness using exquisite color & texture.
