An alumnus of North Forsyth High School, North Carolina Governor’s School, Summer Enrichment Program, University of North Carolina School Of the Arts and Forsyth Technical Community College, Jeffrey is a son of the Piedmont Triad.
Jeffrey Christian Griffin. Husband to Vikki, father to Sophia and Miles and Maggie’s son.
Stepping away from the world of theatre and music, he joined WSJS in 2000. After producing “Glenn Scott and the Waking Crew,” cohosting “Sportsline” and hosting “The Yard Sale” until 2008, Mr. Griffin departed WSJS to lead the Broadcasting Program at the Career Center in Winston-Salem. Under his guidance, Career Center’s “Schoolhouse Radio” was recognized as one of the Top-10 broadcasting programs in the United States.
He has served as the public address announcer for Wake Forest University since 2001, in addition to announcing for the ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Charlotte Hornets, the Winston-Salem Dash, USA Basketball and numerous NCAA and ACC championships as well as charity and all-star games.
His writing has been published in “Winston-Salem Monthly” and the “Winston-Salem Chronicle.”
Jeffrey was honored with the 2013 NCAA Announcer of the Year award for his work with Wake Forest University and the Atlantic Coast Conference as well as the Marvin R. Pittman Award for Teaching Excellence in 2017. His broadcasting credits include accolades from the Associated Press and the Radio and Television Digital News Association.
His volunteer work includes serving with the Guardian Ad Litem program, the Winston-Salem Youth Chorus, the Winston-Salem Human Relations Commission and the Forsyth County Public Library Board of Trustees.
